Abstract

This study aims: 1) To find out and understand the role of KUD Sama Subur in improving the welfare of its members. 2) To find out and understand the factors that cause it not to hold an AGM every year.

The study was conducted at the Sama Subur Cooperative Office in Labibia Village, Mandonga District, Kendari City, with the reason for choosing this research location due to the development of KUD Sama Subur's business, both in terms of the number of members and its capital, which has increased from year to year in order to produce objective, rational data. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The role of KUD Sama Subur in Labibia Village in improving the welfare of its members has not been carried out optimally in serving its members because some members have not received services in terms of credit loans. In the provisions of the articles of association, the rights of each member are the same. In the articles of association and bylaws of the Sama Subur Village Unit Cooperative, it has been stated in its deed of establishment in Article 42 Paragraph (2) of Law No. 17 of 2012, it is stated that the remaining business results obtained from the business carried out for members. 2) Factors that cause the annual RAT not to be held consist of 4 (four) factors, including: a) Members of the Sama Subur Village Unit cooperative, Labibiya Subdistrict, who are recruited from farmers, traders, civil servants, and retirees, sometimes have moved to other areas; b) Members who apply for credit to borrow funds from the cooperative often do not fulfill their agreement to pay installments every month; c) Implementation of additional business fields other than savings and loan business units, for example vehicle rental, tent/chair rental and electricity, payments are not smooth; d) There is a change in cooperative management so that new management works by adjusting the old archives owned by the cooperative.
